BARQUE’S LONG VOYAGE. APPENDICITIS CURE. London, Sept. 14. After an adventurous voyage of six and a half months from Sydney, the fourmasted barque Garthpool (3652 tons), Captain Wylie, has berthed at Birkenhead. The vessel did not see another craft for 73 days. A great gale around the Falkland Isles smashed the steering-gear. Two cadets suffered from appendicitis, but were cured by four days of starvation. —Sun Special.
