FISHERMEN’S WAGES
ALL-ROUND INCREASE. NEW AGREEMENT MADE. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, September 3. The danger of serious disagreement on claims by men employed in the fishing industry was averted by an agreement with employers including an all-round increase of wages of five shillings a week and overtime was increased from 2/6 to 2/9 per hour while some classes of work are rated at 3/6 an hour. The agreement provides for 108 hours ashore instead of 96 hours each four weeks.
