WAIKAIA TENNIS CLUB

SECRETARY HONOURED. At the conclusion of the dancing demonstrations on June 5 the members of the Tennis Club made a presentation to Miss S. McLeod, secretary during the past two seasons. Mr McCaw stated that though they were only a small body they had recently laid down a new concrete court, and it was largely owing to the enterprise of the secretary that they were in such a fortunate position. Miss McLeod had spent much time and trouble in organising entertainments to assist club funds, and in every way had proved herself a most capable official. The club members felt that in view of her approaching marriage they would like to take this opportunity of presenting to her a suitable gift as a slight recognition of her valuable services. The speaker asked Miss McLeod to x accept a beautiful Doulton fruit dish and silver stand, and conveyed to her the best wishes of her fellow-members for happiness and prosperity in her future state.
