A mild sensation was caused at a meeting of the Auckland Hockey Association Executive to-night when strong exception was taken to a statement made through the Press by the association’s selector, Mr. L. C. Kent. The trouble arose over Mr. Kent’s statement that the association had refused him an A. and B. trial match. It was stated that two dates had been suggested for the match after the club fixtures, but neither dates had been accepted. A resolution asking for Mr Kent’s resigcarried by six votes to four. Mr. Kent is president of the association.
