FARM SCHOOL

OPENING TO-DAY AN ATTRACTIVE SYLLABUS GOOD FIELD TO BE COVERED. The winter farm school for farmers, conduted by the Department of Agriculture, will open in the Y.M.CA. this morning at 10 a.m. The syllabus of lectures is an attractive one and cannot fail to please those progressive farmers who are always willing to attend these instructional courses, at which the departmental officers are always willing to answer any questions that come within the scope of their work. The school that was held during the Winter Show week of 1924 was very successful, and judging from the number of inquiries received by Mr McGillivray, Southland’s instructor, the attendance this year will be gratifying. The lectures cover a good field and, as the lecturers are always willing to answer questions, those present can rely upon receiving some valuable information. The lectures arranged are as follows: —June 16— 10.20 a.m.—Opening remarks by director, Mr A. H. Cockayne. 10.30- J. C. Neill—Control of cereal and root crop diseases. 11.30- —R.
