LLOYD GEORGE “OFFSIDE.” TOUTING FOR PARTY SYMPATHY. (Rec. 7.5 p.m.> London, June 14. The Daily Mail states that Mr Lloyd George’s latest America article, urging the Liberals to rally around him in preference to Lord Oxford and Asquith, has angered the “official gang.’’ who are making efforts to heal the Liberal breach. Lord Cowdrs’- refused to comment when invited to say whether he offered £1,000.000 to the Liberal party if Lloyd George was not associated with it.—A. &. N.Z. The following message was received yesterday:—The Evening News discloses that at a Liberal candidates’ meeting on June 12 it was reported that a Liberal peer had offered to contribute £1.000,000 to the Liberal Party funds, on condition that Mr Lloyd George should no longer be associated with the party. LORD OXFORD INDISPOSED. HIS RESIGNATION ANTICIPATED. (Rec. 8.35 p.m.) London, June 14. Lord Oxford and Asquith is suffering from angina pectoris following influenza, and has beer, ordered complete rest. There is a possibility of his resignation. The Liberal leadership is being discussed in the lobbies.—A. and N.Z.
