NEXT AIR WAR
ALTITUDE OF 10 TO 12 MILES. AIRTIGHT AEROPLANE. (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) London, Mar. 18. The Daily Express states that realising the next air war will be fought at a height of 10 to 12 miles, the Air Force is experimenting with artificial conditions representing air at great heights. The experiments show the new supercharging devices enable a 2,450 horse-power engine to develop full power. Aeroplanes will be airtight and carry oxygen apparatus as humans are unable to breathe at such heights.—A and N.Z.
