RISK OF FIRE
ARTIFICIAL WOOL. TOO INFLAMMABLE? London, Feb. 25. The important question has arisen of the comparative inflammability of artificial and real wool. Tests, show that a large percentage of the former in clothing would involve a considerable risk of fire. It is suggested that even contact with a lighted cigarette would be sufficient to ignite such material. The public is accustomed to the safety provided by woollen outer garments, and the introduction of artificial wool might lead to serious bodily injury.—Sun Special.
