TERRIFIC EXPLOSION
THE QUARRY FATALITY. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright.) < Australian and NX Cable Association.) SYDNEY, November 27. The force of the explosion in the Bankatown quarry was so terrific that the victims’ bodies were found thirty feet from the edge of the quarry; The explosion shifted 200 tons of stone and the men received the full force of-it. The victims were shockingly mutilated, and two of those injured are not expected to recover. O’Brien has been identified as a resident of Lidcombe. The accident occurred a few minutes before the work ended for the day. One opinion is that the men were ramming home a charge of gelignite when the charge exploded.
