VICE-REGAL. The Vice-Regal Party bad another busy day at Dunedin yesterday, says a Press Association wire. The Public Hospital was first visited, his Excellency chatting with several patients. The Ross Home, which is conducted by the Presbyterian Social Service Association was next visited, and their Excellencies were then motored to the Karitane Hospital, where Sir Charles laid the foundation stone of the new nurses home. The visitors were entertained at morning tea. The Governor-General was the guest of the Rotary Club at luncheon. His Excellency visited the. Y.M.C.A. in the afternoon, where he was welcomed by the directors. Their Excellencies were the guests of the Mayor and Mayoress at dinner in the evening. The Vice-Regal Party will leave for the north at 8.45 o’clock this morning. Sir Joseph Ward leaves by the early express this morning for Wellington. Mr P. de la Perrelle, M.P., for Awarua, has consented to officially open proceedings on Friday night when Winton will hold its first boxing tournament. Mr John Mathieson was re-appointed to a seat on the Waipiata Sanatorium Committee at yesterday’s meeting of the Southland Hpspital Board. Mr A. M. Burns, sub -editor and assist-ant-editor of the Press, will shortly vacate that post in order to take up the position of manager of the Christchurch Press Company, Limited.—Press Association.
