WONDERLAND

NEW ZEALAND ON THE SCREEN. SUCCESSFUL SECOND NIGHT. A good house greeted the second showing of “The Wonderland of New Zealand” at the Grand Theatre last evening, and the audience thoroughly enjoyed its screen journey through the pick of the Deminion’s scenic resorts and centres of the primary industries. Many people who have spent a lifetime in New Zealand have never bothered, or perhaps, have never been able to see more than a few of the spots that have made the country famous throughout the world, and to those The Wonderland of New Zealand” will particularly appeal. The film is well taken—a Dominion production finished and assembled with the undoubted skill of the American movie man, and apart from the interest attached to a picture which has exploited the charms of New Zealand to the people of the United States of America, it is really entertaining, from the point of view of a pleasure seeker. In conjunction with the scenic film there is a good supporting programme, and Invercargill picturegoers will be interested in the novel “screen, puns” with a local flavour, which to Invercargill is a new departure in film entertainment. The fine orchestra under the baton of Mrs J. Prentice again enhance the pleasure of the evening and was greatly appreciated by the audience.
