CHRISTCHURCH FESTIVAL. INVERCARGILL LADY SUCCESSFUL. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, May 8. The Fifteenth Annual Festival of the Christchurch Competitions Society was opened to-day. The entries total about 1,600. The following are the results in which outside competitors were successful: —Recitation (New Zealand author) lady or gentleman—Miss Sara Aitken (Invercargill) 88 points; Miss Anita Winkel (Dunedin) 87 points 2; Miss Jessie Griffiths (Dunedin) 86 points 3. Recitation (gentlemen)—A. Johnson (Christchurch) 86 points 1; P. J. McGrath (Greymouth) 85 points 2; W. H. Moses (Christchurch) 83 points 3. Recitation (Girls between 16 and 18) Colleen Costello (Christchurch) 82, 1; Mollie Andrews (Dunedin) 81, 2; Marvin Evans (Christchurch) 80, 3.
