A SEPTIC TANK.

To the Editor. Sir. —Could you get to know and advise the long suffering public resident in the vicinity of the septic tank at the foot of Janet Street what is being done to alleviate the nuisance arising from the pungent and offensive odour broadcasted by the said septic tank? “Broadcasted” is the correct term, as its objectionable presence is occasionally felt as far west as Ythan Street, and that to my knowledge and experience. It is time this nuisance which has been in existence to a greater or less extent for some years past, was abated; as its continuance is a menace to health, an insult to our olfactory nerves, and the cause of considerable depreciation in the value of property adjacent. —I am, etc., GETTING RESTIVE. (We are informed that the septic tank is under repair—Ed. S.T.)
