A NEW DEPARTURE
VENETIAN AND ALTON WARE. During the past few months several new departments have been added to the Progressive Stores. Yesterday saw the birth of a further new section to stock, Venetian, Alton and other exquisite ware. The stock is essentially complete, but possibly the mcst notable feature is the price. Beautifully painted Venetian ware, comprising many antique patterns in vases from 2/11 and 3/6 upwards. Exclusive floating rose bowls marked at only 5/6. Beautiful salad bowls in colourings and in designs beyond description. Prices at 6/6 upwards. Some of the quaintest pieces are the Chu Chin Chow covered jars—they are priced at only 6/- upward. There is a general assortment of Alton ware. Vases and beautiful fern bowls ranging in price from 4/6 upwards. The shipment is direct from one of Britain’s foremost makers, and while the quality and workmanship is par excellent, the wonderfully low prices will bring record business to H. & J. SMITH. LTD— AdvL
