AMERICA LIQUOR WAR
GUN-PLAY IN HOTEL LOBBY. THREE KILLED AND OTHERS WOUNDED. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) NEW YORK, January 25. A telegram from Herrin (Illinois) states that Glen Young, a Ku Klux Klan liquor runner, and his assistant, George Forbes, were killed to-night in a hotel lobby in a gun fight with Deputy-Sheriff Oro Thomas, who was also killed. Several others were wounded in the melee, in which the action was so fast and furious that the spectators were unable to agree as to what happened. Klansmen are patrolling the streets, and the military are en route to prevent any further outbreaks.
