SECRET SITTINGS
OF BRITISH FOOD COMMISSION. A LABOUR PROTEST. (By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cabl? Association.) LONDON, January 26. (Received January 26, 11 p.m.) Speaking at Neath in Glamorganshire, Mr A. Fenner-Brockway (Secretary of the Independent Labour Party) protested against the exclusion of the Press and public from certain sittings of the Food Commission. He said that he was unable to understand why they should meet privately when investigating the secrets of profiteering. He regretted that the traders in foodstuffs were not being examined as strictly as were the coal-owners by the Sankey Commission. Mr Brockway deplored the fact that one of the two Labour representatives was absent in Canada during the inquiry.
