A message from Thursday Island states that the steamer Harve from Singapore to Brisbane is ashore on King Island. No details are available. WHAT WILL IBANEZ DO? MADRID, January 21. The wife of Blasco Ibanez, the Spanish author, who has been directing literary attacks on King Alfonso from France and has been summoned before the French Courts for so doing, died to-day in Valencia and the question now arises whether Ibanez can safely return to Spain to attend the funeral or whether he will be arrested immediately on crossing the frontier.
