TAR AND FEATHERS
threat to labour member. (Sun Special). BRISBANE, October 2a. A threat to tar and feather the State Labour member for Maryborough (Mr D. Weir), who is also an aiderman of the town, was made to him over the telephone. The affair had to do with the proposal of the City Council, on which there is a Labour majority, to remove war trophies from the front of the Town Hall. The returned soldiers are most active in their attempt to frustrate the move, though* at a meeting last night they repudiated the threat made to Mr Weir.
