VISIT TO THE MANAWATU (Per United Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, November 5. The Governor-General, accompanied by Lady and the Hon. Lucy Jellicoe, had a busy day in farewelling Palmerston North and the Manawatu district to-day, the functions including a visit to Flock House, where the sons of deceased British Naval men are training as farmers, laying the foundation tsone of the Palmerston North War Memorial, and the official opening of the Royal Show. His Excellency was presented with an address from the Manawatu A. & P. Association by the President, Mr J. A. Nash, M.P., and with a life membership badge of the Royal Agricultural Society by Mr W. Perry, of Masterton, the President. On account of the Parliamentary session concluding to-morrow, His Excellency was obliged to return to Wellington this evening and was therefore unable to participate in the arrange mens which had been made for the civic farewell to-morrow. The Mayor, Mr F. J. Nathan, and councillors farewelled the Governor-General prior to the departure of the train, and the former presented an address.
