A NEW VERSION
MODERN TRANSLATION OF THE BIBLE “LIKE A MAGAZINE STORY.” (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright). LONDON, November 6. Rev James Moffatt, Professor of Church History, has completed his eight years’ task of re-translating the Bible, the topical English freedom of which is likely to provoke world wide controversy. The Rev Moffatt describes Eden as a Park and Noah’s Ark becomes a structure of barge dimensions in feet and inches. The replacement of obsolete idioms and metaphors makes the translation like a magazine story.
