(To the Editor). Sir, —In • nr issue of to-day’s Times I notice a leading article under the above heading and also a letter from a returned soldier upon this important question. I fully agree with all that your correspondent “Returned Soldier” says, and consider his letter moderate in tone and well to the point, and certainly worth the consideration of all right minded people. The promises made before and during the collection should be carried out, and the committee ought to consider it a pleasure to do so. The people trusted them with the duties and money which, I understand is in hand, and as for the little trouble to find out a complete list, I look upon this as piffle. If they find it impossible then they ought to resign and give someone else a chance to carry the whole business through to the satisfaction of parents, soldiers and the public at large, for the everlasting honour of this province of Southland. I fail to grasp the logic of the high ideals which your leader writer would instil into our minds in defence of this precious committee of ten with their secretary. Our Creator has given us all more or less reason to think and I trust the people of Invercargill will rouse themselves over this injustice and not be led by a few.—l am, etc., JUSTICE.
