SENT TO GAOL
AFTER ARRIVAL FROM NEW ZEALAND. (By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright). (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association). SYDNEY, November 5. (Received November 5, 7.40 p.m.) Acting upon a cable from the New Zealand police, Sydney detectives arrested Mervyn John Cudby upon the arrival of the steamer Manuka. Cudby was subsequently charged with having fifteen detonators in his possession with intent to steal. The Magisrate, in sentencing Cudby to six months’ imprisinment, declored he was an undesirable visitor to New South Wales. Cudby said that he was released from prison three months ago and secured wrok but the police told his employer what he was and consequently he could not keep a job.
