T)UBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Invercargill Borough Council held on the 28th day of October, 1924, the Council resolved to make by special order a Bylaw to be known by the short title of “The Invercargill Bylaw No. 8, 1924,” the objects and purport of which Bylaw are as follows: I—Prohibiting the riding, driving or conducting of any animal, vehicle or bicycle, or playing of any game, on grass plots or plantations in streets or any other interference with such plots or flower beds therein. 2—Prescribing the conditions for the connection of private drains with sewers. 3—Requiring persons intending to erect, alter or repair buildings to obtain permits from the Borough Council or Town Engineer before beginning the work; also where in carrying out any such work it is necessary to cross a footway to first obtain a permit from the Council or Town Engineer; also requiring every person who intends carrying out any work to make good all damage or injury which may be done to any street, footway or public place, and also to deposit the required sum of money as security for making good any such damage or injury; also requiring the covering and protection from injury, in the manner direced by the Borough Engineer, of footways across which materials and things are carried.

4—Prohibiting vehicles being taken across or along any footway except where there is an outhorised crossing. NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that a copy of the said proposed Bylaw is deposited at the Public Office of the Council in the Town Hall, Tay Street, Invercargill, and is open to the inspection of the public during office hours until and inclusive of the 25th day of November 1924. NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that the Council intends at a Special Meeting of the Council to be held at the Council Chambers, Tay Street, Invercargill, on TUESDAY, the 25th day of November, 1924, at 8 o’clock in the evening to confirm as a Special Order the aforesaid resolution making the said Invercargill Bylaw No. 8, 1924, either with any amendments which may be made before confirmation or without amendment, and that at such meeting the day upon which such Bylaw shall come into force will be fixed, the date proposed being the 10th day of December 1924.
