FINANCIAL PROPOSITION
8 PER CENT FREE OF INCOME TAX. The sum of £15,000 is being raised by the Westport-Stockton Coal Co., Ltd., on second mortgage debentures in order to provide funds for the completion of the flume for the water transport of coal at their mine. The inducement offered to investors by the Companys is 8 per cent free of income tax, and an advertisement appearing elsewhere in this issue announces that applications should be addressed to the secretary of the company, 183 Cashel street, Christchurch. Work has been proceeding on the above-mentioned flume for some time and it is estimated that its completion will save the Company no less than £lO,OOO
