SUGAR OF MILK
NEW FACTORY TO BE BUILT. MAY BE READY IN A MONTH. The work of clearing the debris, caused by the recent fire in the Sugar of Milk Works at Edendale, has been pushed on steadily, and good progress has been made. A considerable amount of the machinery has been dismantled, and now only a few machines stand on the ground floor, which is practically cleared. Some of the old piping and joints have been salvaged from the wreck, and these are laid out in an orderly manner along the front of the property. As soon as the ground floor has been cleared, work will commence on the new building which will be a two-storeyed concrete one. It will be fitted with up-to-date machinery which will assist greatly in the manufacture of a high grade article.
It is anticipated that the new factory will be ready in about a month’s time to receive whey from the surrounding dairy companies.
