CLAIM FOR DAMAGES
ALLEGED MALICIOUS PROSECUTION. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) SYDNEY, September 11. Writs have been issued on behalf of Alexander Healy and James Conners, railway employees, claiming £lOOO damages in each case for alleged malicious prosecution, wrongful arrest, and false imprisonment against Arthur William Buckley.
A. W. Buckley, who was suspended from the position of New South Wales secretary by the Federal Executive of the Railway Union, had warrants issued for the arrest of Healy, formerly New South Wales treasurer, Petterson, formerly New South Wales acting-secret ary, and Connors, a former executive officer, on charges of conspiring to defraud the union of certain sums of mcney. These men surrendered themselves to the police. Buckley was suspended for taking action without consulting the executive. The charges were afterwards withdrawn and the men discharged.
