WAIROA FATALITY
RESCUER’S HEROISM COMMENDED. WAIROA, September 9. This afternoon the Coroner, Mr E. C. Lewey, S.M., held the adjourned inquest on Puru Solomon, one of the victims of the recent boating fatality at Whakaki. After hearing the evidence a verdict was returned that deceased accidentally met his death by drowning, and the Coroner added a rider that Wiremu Walker performed an heroic deed in rescuing Eric Rogers from certain death and recovering Puru Solo,mnn’s body.
