ATTEMPTED MURDER
RUMANIAN CONSUL ATTACKED. A SENSATIONAL INCIDENT. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) LONDON, July 9. (Received July 10, 11 p.m.) The Rumanian Consul, M. March Beza, narrowly escaped death in the Legation at Kensington, when a compatriot, a young student, whose request for assistance was refused, drew a revolver and fired two shots ploint blank. The Consul, by grabbing the revolver, deflected the aim, but the flash from the pistol singed his hair. A desperate struggle followed. Legation officials rushed to the Consul’s assistance, but the student was tremendously strong and it took five men to overpower him.
