GOOD ROADS without increase of Rates. OR BAD ROADS with increase of Rates. WHICH?? THE NORTH ROAD costs £660 per year for Maintenance—all that you have for £660 is a BAD ROAD. If the LOAN PROPOSAL is carried, all that will be required will be £570 for Interest and Sinking Fund. There will be NO maintenance charges for at least SIX YEARS! TAKE NOTE that a GOOD ROAD will thus cost. £9O per year less than a bad road. This applies to all roads being dealt with. If these roads are not provided for out of Loan Monies they will have to be provided for out of Revenue, and this will mean INCREASED RATES. This is not a threat but a foregone conclusion. Posterity helps when a Road is made by Loan, but YOU PAY ALL for a Read made out of Revenue. At present you Pay about £lO,OOO per year for PATCHING our Roads. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THEM ?
