The Kotare arrived from Dunedin last night and sails for Invercargill to-day. The Kauri sailed at noon yesterday for Sydney via Port Chalmers. The Turakina is to sail to-day for further loading at Tokomaru Bay, Gisborne and -Wellington. The Kent left Lyttelton yesterday for Dunedin, where she is due to-day. She is due at Bluff about Sunday to complete discharge of cargo loaded at Liverpool. From Newcastle and Clarence River via New Plymouth, the Kittawa is due at Bluff with coal and poles towards the end of next week. The Kakapo is due at Bluff about July 20 with guano from Walpole Island via Dunedin. The motorship Hauraki is expected at Bluff about July 20 with general cargo from San Francisco and Pacific coast ports, via Wellington. On completion here she proceeds to Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. The Rio Claro left New York on July 4 with cargo for Nev. Zealand ports. She is due to discharge at Bluff about the end of August. The Port Curtis, from London and New Zealand ports, is due about August 19 with cargo. TRANS-PACIFIC CARGO SERVICE. UNION COMPANY’S STEAMERS. I Following are the movements of the L’.S.S. Co.’s Pacific cargo fleet:— The Hauraki. from Vancouver and Powell River, sailed from San Francisco for Wellington, Bluff, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide on Tuesday, Jun? 19. She is due at Wellington about Saturday. The Waiotapu, from Vancouver, Ocean Falls and San Francisco, arrived at Auckland on July 3 and was expected to sail yesterday for Sydney, Newcastle and Mel bourne. The Wairuna, from Melbourne, sailer! from Geelong on Thursday, July 3, for Auckland en route to Fanning Island, Honolulu, Vancouver and San Francisco. The Waikawa, from San Francisco, left Union Bay on Monday, June 16, for Napier, Lyttelton, Dunedin and New Plymouth. She is due at Napier on Saturday. The Trelyon, from Auckland, is due at Vancouver to-morrow and afterwards proceeds to San Francisco to complete loading for Auckland, Melbourne and Sydney. TELEGRAPHED REPORTS. Trouble over the steamer Kyogle continues. BRITISH SHIPBUILDING. A SUBSTANTIAL INCREASE LONDON, July 8. Improvement in shipbuilding is shown by Lloyds’ Register of shipbuilding returns for the quarter ending June 30, showing 1,465,000 tons actually under construction in the United Kingdom, the highest since March 31, 1922. The tonnage commenced was 375,000 compared with 227,000 for the corresponding period last year. The tonnage launched was 364,000, the highest for 24 years. Merchant tonnage actually building abroad is 960,000, which is 38,000 more Uxan at March 3L
