“Although we are offering per lb., fat lambs are now almost unprocurable, while fat sheep, except small lots for butchers, are also nearing their end,” said a Wairarapa buyer. He stated that owing to the great growth of autumn grass, beef was now plentiful at 25/- per cwt., and unless outside buyers operated as last year it was likely to remain so.
