Edward Jennings, a registered masseur, was fined £5 at the Magistrate’s Court for a breach of the Medical Practitioners’ Act, in that he implied by advertisement that he was a registered specialist in women’s diseases. The Magistrate, Mr Wyvern Wilson, said that in his opinion defendant had been holding out wrongly as having special qualifications for the treatment of women’s diseases. A man who advertised in the way Jennings had done was a menace to the community.
