DUNEDIN EXHIBITION

SOUTHLAND REPRESENTATION. The Secretary of the New Zealand and South Seas Exhibition, which is to be held at Dunedin next year, has written the following letter to the Secretary of the Southland League regarding the question of Southland being represented at the Exhibition : “Referring to your letter of August 20, 1923, I would now be glad if you could afford me some information as to the amount of floor space you will be likely to require for the Southland Court. ‘‘l am asking this because I have an application from Invercargill for space, and if your Court was definitely arranged for I could refer this applicant and others to you for space, etc. “ Needless to say the Directors appreciated very much your encouraging letter, and they are now taking steps to have i Provincial Courts set up for each district. So far inquiry has been made from Tara- ! naki and Westland, whilst space is already being taken up in the Otago Provincial Court. “It is possible that one large building will be devoted solely to New Zealand products, but the Court you suggest will be the one we expect to see mostly adopted, as such a Court will serve not only for New’ Zealand products, but also imported or agency lines from overseas. “I hope to receive in the near future a definite application from Southland for its Provincial Court.”

It is probate that a meeting of firms and others interested will be called at an early date to discuss the question.
