THE SEVENSON LAND POLICY.

To the Editor. Si r> —Your correspondent Fanner (?) Hodge—kindly pardon the query—fails utterly to make any point by the palpably weak, illogical and cynical remarks in hw attempt to attack Mr Stevenson under cover of an assumed name. Jibes and sneers are poor argument : and are, of course, usually the method adopted by those who have no sound argument to offer. In common with other readers, I regard your “Farmer” correspondent’s letter as aomething in the nature of an echo of certain leading articles which recently appeared in your paper—an elephantine attempt at dispensing “superior” grandfatherly wisdom, of a type not exactly creditable to the source of its origin. Such an attitude serves only to remind us of the story of the jackdaw masquerading in peacock’s feathers. Iteadera in search of information will learn nothing from such letters as that of your “Farmer” conrepondeuL I am, etc., FAIR PLAY.
