PARKIN AND THE TEST MATCH. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) Sun Cable.) LONDON, June 22. (Received June 23, 1.0 a.m.) The cricketer, Parkin, in his weekly article in the newspaper Dispatch, has caused a sensation in cricket circles by his strong comment upon Gilligan’s failure to use him on the last morning of the South African test match. He says that while Gilligan made many changes in the bowling, he was standing at mid-off, wondering why he had been overlooked and how he had got the top bowling averages this season. Hj never felt so humiliated in the whole of his cricket career. Parkin adds: "I can take the rough with the smooth with anybody, but I will not stand being treated as on Tuesday. I should not be fair to myself if I accepted an invitation to play in any further test. Not that I expect to receive an invitation.”

Gilligan declines the Dispatch’s request to discuss the matter, saying: “Parkin is entitled to his comments and I to mine. That’s all I am going to say.”
