Under “The Municipal Corporations Act 1920,” and “The Local Bodies Loans Act 1913.” PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Invercargill Borough Council proposes to raise a Special Loan of £74.000 for the purpose, of the following public 1 works. The particular purpose for v/b’ich the loan is required is the reconstruction and the general improv enient of Streets within the Borough, namely:— (I)—Streets within the business portion of the Borough bounded by Spey, Leven, Tay and Kelvin- Streets, and including the parts of Spey, Leven, Tay and Kelvin Streets surrounding the area within such boundaries, but the specific I mention of parts of the streets named shall not limit the works to such parts. > (2) —Streets which in the opinion of the Borough Council are convenient routes to residential areas within the Borough or are arterial streets leading out of the Borough. ; (3)—lncluding the acquiring and erection and construction of all machinery, plant, tools, buildings, walks, material, labour and all other things which shall be required for or in respect of the purpose for which rhe loan is to be ! raised.

The said Loan of £74,000 and the interest thereon shall be secured upon all the annual income and revenues of the Borough and also upon a Sinking Fund of £1 10/per centum psr annum on the amount of the loan, 53d the interest and sinking fund shall aliVj be secured by a Special Rate upon ad the rateable property of the Borough, sufficient to meet the periodical pay- ‘ merits of the said interest and sinking fund ’ as they fall due and ten per centum itdre than such payments. • It is proposed that all preliminary expenses incurred in connection with the scheme, and the cost of raising the lo&n, and the internet and sinking fund fur vhe first year shrill be paid out of the loan. The .said loan or any parts thereof shall be raised by the issue of debentures payable at periods of not less than Ten years nor more than forty years from the issue of the respective debentures and bearing interest not exceeding the rate of £5 10/- per centum per annum (or such rate as may be prescribed by the Governor-General by Order-in-Council).
