OTAUTAU HORSE SALE. GOOD PRICES REALISED. The horse sale held at Otautau on Wednesday by Wright, Stephenson & Co., Ltd., was considered by local farmers to have been the best held in this centre for years. There was a large attendance of buyers and the whole entry, comprising some 42 horses, was cleared at very satisfactory prices. Included in the yarding were some very useful working draughts, and these met with an especially good demand, realising from £3O to £45. This latter price was secured for a fine 3-year-old gelding sold on account of Mr Charles Keen. The following are some of the prices:—Gelding, £45; mares, £4O 10/-, £4O; geldings, £3B, £36; colt, £34 10/-; mares, £34 10/-, £34, £33 10/-, £33, £32 10/-, £3O, £29, £24, £23; gelding, £22 10/-; mare, £22. A number of aged and broken down animals sold at from £5 to £l5. A large quantity of harness and sundries auctioned after the horses brought good market values.

SHIPMIDNTS TO EUROPE AND BRITAIN The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board i has received a cable from its representative at Buenos Aires, South America, advising the following shipments to the United Kingdom for the fortnight ended June 14, 1924, from Argentine and Uruguay:—2so,426 quarters chilled beef, 115,567 quarters frozen beef, 59,435 carcases frozen mutton, 52,134 carcases frozen lamb. The quantity shipped to the Continent of Europe during the same period totalled:— 218,100 quarters frozen beef, 9908 carcases frozen mutton, 1200 carcases frozen lamb.
