STILL AT LARGE
THE GOULBURN DESPERADO. A DARING ESCAPADE. (By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright.) SYDNEY, February 15. Search in the Goulbum district for the desperado who is alleged to be responsible for numerous incendiary outbreaks, so far proved fruitless? The suspect daringly visited a house near Rosedale used as police headquarters, stole a horse and sulky and drove along the road within a few feet of eight policemen. A search party set out on his tracks but a heavy storm compelled them to return. It is now thought the suspect is the man who was last year admitted to a mental institution after he had roved the hiUs in the district for some months committing petty thefts. He was later dischaiged. Colour is lent to this story by the fact that four of the places burned down this week were robbed by him last year.
