COLONEL CLIVE THREATENED. BY SEPARATIST LEADER. (Reuter’s Telegram). BERLIN, January 27. Received January 28, 11.30 p.m.). A Ludwigshafen telegram to the Lokal Anzeiger states that one of the i Separatist leaders if Colonel Clive (the British military representative on the League of Nations), who has been inquiring into the state of affairs in the Bavarian Palatinate, returns to Munich, he wiU be murdered, because of what he has done to the Separatists in the Palatinate cannot be left unrevenged.
THE REPARATIONS. WORK OP THE COMMITTEES. LONDON, January 27. At the Midland Bank meeting the Right Hon. Reginald Mac Kenna said there were indications we were nearing the end of a most trying period. “I am hopeful we are now on the road to recovery. I am happy to say that I believe that the Reparations Committee wiU be successful, and I am hopeful that it wiU lead to some change in mentality in dealing with Reparations, which is indispensible before permanent peace can be achieved.” GERMAN RAILWAY WORKERS. GENERAL STRIKE THREATENED. BERLIN, January 27. A general railway strike is threatened. The employees are demanding an eight-hour day.
