ZEEtING IN WELLINGTON.

(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, January 28. The Executive Council of the New Zealand Bank Officers’ Guild, comprising 23 delegates from different parts of the Dominion, met in Wellington to-day for their fifth annual conference. In moving the adoption of the annual report, the retiring President'(Mr C. A. MacDonald, Wellington), referred to the steady growth of the membership, which had reached 2087. The year had been one of quiet, steady* progress. The Guild was now firmly established and had come to be recognised as an integral valuable part of the banking system of the Dominion. Steady improvement was taking place in the conditions of the service in the various banks, for which the Guild might rightly claim a share cf credit. Reference was made to the fact that the banks had taken steps to introduce unifomity in their note issues, a matter which had been brought before them by the Guild. The important matter of endorsements on bills of exchange was being carefully considered by the committee. The President congratulated members on the cordial relationship that existed between the Guild and the authorities cf the banks and spoke with pleasure of the progress the Guild had made during the four years of its existence. Many matters of importance to members of the Guild were discussed by the Conference during the sessions. Delegates from each of six banks discussed various matters of mutual interest with the executive officers of their own particular banks.
