BOROUGH OF INVERCARGILL. NEW BY-LAW. PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Invercargill ) Borough Council held on the 11th day |of December 1923 the Council resolved • to make by special order a Bylaw to be known by the short title of “The Invercargill Bylaw No. 7, 1923,” the objects and purport of which Bylaw are as follows: I—Under Section 354 (23) of the Municipal Corporations Act 1920 prescribing the minimum frontage to a public or private road or, street and the minimum area of an allotment of land upon which a dwellinghouse may be erected; to be a frontage of 33 feet and an area of one-eighth of an acre within that part of the Borough being the Town of Invercargill, and, to be a frontage of 42 feet and an area of one-sixth of an acre within any part of the Borough except the Town of Invercargill. 2 Under Section 67 of the Health Act 1920, prescribing the minimum area and the minimum frontage to a public or private road or street of an allotment of land upon which a dwelling may be erected to be the same as to localities, areas and frontages as set out in paragraph “1” of this notice. 3—Providing that no person shall erect or cause to be erected nipon any Allotment of land or site having an area, or a frontage to any public or private road or street less than as prescribed by the proposed Bylaws as stated in paragraphs 1 and 2 of this notice, and that every dwellinghouse so erected shall have an independent area and frontage. 4 —Provinding the minimum air space/s for buildings shall be as prescribed by Section 299 of The Municipal Corporations Act 1920. s—Providing that where buildings are already occupied without sufficient area, frontage or air spaces no other building upon the same site shall be occupied. NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that a copy of the said proposed Bylaw is deposited at the Public Office of the Council in the Town Hall, Tay Street, Invercargill, and is open to the inspection of the public during office hours until and inclusive of the 22nd day of January 1924. NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that the Council intends at a Special Meeting of the Council to be held at the Council Chambers, Tay Street, Invercargill, on Tuesday, the 22nd day of January 1924 at 8 o’clock in the evening to confirm as a special order the aforesaid resolution making the said Invercargill Bylaw No. 7, 1924, either with any amendments which may be made before confirmation or without amendment, and that at such meeting the day upon which such Bylaw shall come into force will be fixed, the date proposed being the 2nd day of February 1924.
