SEXUAL OFFENDERS

MEDICAL EXAMINATION. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, November 20. The Minister of Health, Sir Maui Pomare, announced to-day that a committee comprising experts from the Mental, Health, Justice, and Education Department was being set up to confer and advise the Government on the question of the examination before sentence of persons charged with sexual offences, especially in cases where young children are concerned. It would be for the committee to consider whether it would call evidence, and on its report the Government would have to decide what action would be taken.
