NEW AUTOMATIC RIFLE

(Received November 20, 5.5 p.m.) General John Thompson, head of the Auto-ordnances Corporation of New York, formerly belonging to the American Army, has arrived to submit a new automatic rifle to the British Army. The new weapon is three pounds lighter than the present one and has a range of 1600 yards, the magazine holding twenty cartridges, no bolt pulling being required to eject the spent cartridge. The whole operation is automatic as in a Lewis gun.
