SOUTH WAIRARAPA NOMINATIONS.
(Per United Press Association.) CARTERTON, November J 7. A representative meeting of South Wairarapa, co-op. dairy companies, including Featherston, Grey town, Otaraia, Tawaha, Lake View, Pirinoa, Bidwill, and Lower Valley, decided to nomihato the following for the Dairy Control Board: —K. Dalrymple (Bulls) ;H. D. Forsyth (Eltham); W. Goodfellow (Hamilton); W. Grounds (Hokianga) ; W. A. lorns (Martinborough) ; W. C. Motion (YVaiuku). CANTERBURY DISSATISFIED. SOUTH ISLAND NOMINEES NOT ACCEPTABLE. CONFERENCE WITH OTAGO. (Special to the Times). CHRISTCHURCH, November 17. Finality has not yet been reached by the dairymen of Canterbury in respect to the selection of a representative for nomination as a member of the Dairy Produce Control Board. At a meeting held in Wellington recently three men were nominated as candidates for the three South Island seats as follows: Messrs J. R. Thacker (Canterbury), F. Waite (Otago) and J. Fisher (Southland). Discontent with these nominations has been expressed, not only in Canterbury, but in Otago. At a meeting of dairymen held this week at Christchurch it was decided to ask Mr S. Smith to stand for the Canterbury seat. A committee was set up to meet a representative from Otago to discuss the matter, and also to confer with Messrs Smith and Thacker. This committee met to-day and conferred with a representative of the Otago dairymen, and the whole position was discussed with a view to securing mutual support for the respective nominees of Canterbury and Otago. Owing to the fact that Mr Thacker was unable to be present, it was decided to adjourn the meeting till Monday. No announcement was made as to whether Mr Smith had agreed to accept nomination. DAIRY COUNCIL CANDIDATES. SUPPORT FROM KING COUNTRY. (Per United Press Association.) TE KUITI, November 17. At a representative meeting of dairy farmers from Pio Pio, Aria, Waitete, Oparure, Kopaki, Rangitoto, Makauiti, Mahoenui, Hangitiki and W T aitomo, the following i motion was unanimously carried: That this meeting of suppliers of the northern portion of the King Country heartily approves of the candidates nominated by the Dairy Council for election to the Dairy Produce Control Board, and pledges itself to do everything in its power to secure the election of Messrs Grounds, Goodfellow, Motion, Forsyth, Irons and Dallrymple. AUCKLAND NOMINATION. AUCKLAND, November 17. Mr John Gillies, of Willisford, has been nominated for a seat on the Dairy Produce Control Board by the Kaipara co-op. dairy, of which he is the director.
