As in the case of all weeds, it is advisable to catch docks young. When in the seeding stage they can be destroyed by hoeing, but when once the plants have matured, nothing short of complete removal will eradicate them. Persistent mowing will discourage them, but is tedious, and the pulling up of a healthy adult dock is a man’s work When the roots are subdivided, the separate parts have the power of sending up fresh plants, so that uprooting must be repeated several times to be effective.
