A. AND P. ASSOCIATION

MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the committee of the Wallace A. and P. Association was well attended. Mr W. Blaikie asked, through the president, that the judging of draughts be delayed, in order to permit him to bring his exhibits by train, and this was agreed to. Messrs Laing and Knighton intimated that they could not undertake the catering on Show Day, and it was resolved that the ladies of the croquet and bowling clubs be approached to take the matter in hand, with the directors of the association, to arrange the luncheon. The Canterbury A. and P. Association wrote, that it had been resolved to postpone the meeting to consider a federation of all South Island associations till March 20, 1924. It was resolved that all stewards meet on the ground on Tuesday, November 20, to carry out the work of preparing yards and pens for exhibits. The arranging for sheep for the Dog Trial was left in the hands of Messrs P. Beggs and T. Norman. The stewards in the Purebred Sheep classes were directed to set aside five or more unplaced sheep for amateur judging. Mr J. Macdonald, Timaru, forwarded a donation of £lO 10/-, for special competition in dairy cow section, for cows showing best milk and butter-fat production, subject to regulations to be agreed upon by the association. The allocation of the prize was deferred till the establishment of the proposed Cow-Testing Association was decided. Accounts amounting to £3l 1/8 were passed for payment.
