MURDER IN LONDON
TAXI-CAB MYSTERY. (By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, November 15. (Received November 16, 11 p.m.) A taxi-cab murder in London was revealed last night, when a man drove to the Fulham Police Station and made a statement, whereupon the police found a woman inside the taxi dead with her throat cut and a razor nearby. The woman was named Ethel Howard, and was also known as Ethel Ireland. She was a widow with two children, a girl of eight and a boy of five. She lived at Shepherd’s Bush. One report states she came from New Zealand two years ago. Another states she comes from Australia, where her husband died. She was a handsome woman aged 30 years. The man detained is George Iggulden, 25 years of age of no fixed employment since demobilised. The couple were to have been married at a registry office to-day. They met yesterday and had tea in the neighbourhood of Piccadilly and afterwards drove off in a taxi-cab.
