ATTEMPTED ROBBERY
BANK MANAGER SEIZED BY THROAT.

LONDON, February 20. (Received February 20, 9.15. p.m.)
A daring attempt was made to rob the Hurlstone Park branch of the Government. Savings Bank. At mid-day, when the manager was alone behind the counter, a man ran in the jumped over the counter and seized him by the throat. The manager fought the intruder off and called for assistance. His wife came to his help and the assailant decamped.
