BAND CONTEST
AN INVERCARGILL SUCCESS. (Per United Press Association.) DUNEDIN, February 19. The contest under the auspices of the South Island Bands’ Association commenced here to-day. The following are the results decided so far:—B flat cornet champion solo:—T. Goodall (Wellington Tramways Band) 97 points, 1; W. Leeman (Redfern Band, Sydney) 96, 2; W. H. Osborne (First Canterbury Mounted) 95, 3. Trombone trios:—lnvercargill Hibernian 95, 1; Wellington Tramways 94, 2; Redfern Sydney 86, 3. Quartettes: —St. Kilda (Dunedin) No. 1, 99, 1; Runanga Municipal 98, 2; Invercargill Hibernian 97, 3.
