Ono successful competitor at the motor ; trials recently held m Christchurch had contracted a slight cold, and his friends demurred at his entering the contest. He was determined to take part in the race, and did so. To the surprise of onlookers he placed a large bottle of Baxter’s Lung Preserver in the pocket of his car. He instructed his observer to give him an occasional dose of this well-known specific, and this gave him relief and enabled him to keep a clear head. Afterwards, he was generpus in his praises of “Baxter’s” as a pick-me-up tonic. He said that he always used it when suffering from a cough or cold, and had never found it wanting.
